New Committee Needed

The NSA is a registered charity that supports all local sports and runs the Nomansland Recreation Ground and Community Clubhouse, which is used by the New Forest Primary School for PE and events.

This year, both the Chairman and Treasurer, who have been part of the committee for the past 7 years, will be stepping down. The Secretary is kindly willing to stand again, however, if two volunteers do not step forward to be Chairman (or lady) and Treasurer, the charity will have to be wound up at the AGM.

The NSA gives an opportunity to local people to run the recreation ground the way they choose, and raise extra funds to improve it, something that they have done very successfully for almost 35 years. The NSA provides facilities for the football clubs, tennis, girl guides, circuit training, the skate park and many other clubs and activities, and together with the PTA and Scouts runs the Firework display and Village Fayre on the green on every August Bank Holiday Monday. The charity currently has reserves and commitments ready to spend on improvements and maintenance to be decided by the new committee. Running the NSA you will make many good friends and you will be helping to continue the popular work of this local charity.

If the charity is wound up the future of all of these services and events would be uncertain. All the charities reserves and the lease will be returned to Landford Parish Council, who have not budgeted sufficient funds to operate the recreation ground though the 2018/19 financial year.

If YOU would like to volunteer or have any suggestions, please come along to the meeting or send an email to nomanslandsportsassociation@yahoo.co.uk
